Dry Needling
The practice of 'dry needling' involves inserting a solid filoform needle (also referred to as acupuncture needles) into a target tissue for therapeutic effect. This can assist in the management of muscular pain, ligament injuries, chronic pain and help to relax trigger points.
This approach is based on Western anatomical and neurophysiological principles. While in both, the same needles are used, it should not be confused with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) technique which involves specific meridian points.
